A Fairy Tale
The wood nymph had been following the three intruders for some miles now and still she could not quell her curiosity. These creatures that walked rather then flew were new to her and the things they did very strange indeed. One of them, a huge thing, looked very mean indeed and the large purple stick or whatever he carried was truly a deadly thing in his mighty hands. The little one who looked like her but with pointy ears and no wings seemed very nice indeed and although it was almost as deadly as the larger one the nymph was drawn to her in a way she could not explain. The last one was truly a sight and she almost giggled out loud as she watched him. For this was a human, an old human, but human nonetheless. She had seen them before many times killing her friends and brethren and she had no love for them but this one seemed a little different.
"Where to now Lord Korg?" the lady creature spoke. The nymph almost shivered when she heard the power in the woman’s voice. "Ah my lady Rosalyn where ever this good trail will take us I think. What say you Hakkiem." The old man looked up from scratching in the dirt at his feet and nodded in agreement with the large one. He seemed to be along only for the amusement that it brought him more then the treasure they had gathered and the bloody trail they had left behind them in the woods. The nymph decided he was not so bad after all. The large one she still had her doubts about.
Suddenly the three travelers where surrounded by a large group of evil looking men. At least they did not smile as they spoke, unlike the three she had been following so she feared that they were evil. The one called Korg gave a nod of his head and a growl that would have frightened even a fenris; a creature the wood nymph avoided at all cost, came from his throat. And suddenly his purple stick cut one of the men in twain, the lady was conjuring magic that the nymph had never witnessed before and the old one was quicker then he appeared for he too struck down one the fiends. It was over in a matter of moments and to the dismay of the evil jumpers they lay dead, dying and bleeding around the three friends. "Wasn’t that fun?" smiled Korg "Yes, most amusing?" chided the old man. "Damn I think I broke a fingernail." Scoffed the lovely lady. And once again the wood nymph almost giggled too loudly.
As the three moved along the trail the wood nymph thought of home and even though she was still curious she was also hungry so she turned in another direction hoping that one day she’d see the three again?..Fini
