Back to Square One(or how to turn left and get it right)

The one eyed wizard of Wen screamed "By the horn of the Toad that made us all" looking at the old man who stood on his doorstep. "You surly jest ancient one. What you ask for is impossible." To clarify things the one eyed wizard had two eyes but only one was truly his own. The other was an Ogre mage eye that the wizard kept in his head by means of an elven enchantment. At the most inopportune times though the eye did seem to have a mind of it’s own and would pop out of it’s socket and roll about on the floor. It was most amusing except to the wizard I suppose. The little wizard looked at the old man then his gaze was drawn back to the ancient tome just peeking out from under his cape. He could feel the power that was within and he hungered for the knowledge it must contain. "You will be most generously paid good wizard." The old gent stated. "And what harm could it do but to try?"

The wizard looked at old man again then step out of the doorway to let him pass inside. Closing the oak door behind him as he took his cape and just brushed his hand across the ancient cover of the tome. Yes a great power came from inside and the little wizards’ heart leapt to his throat as he realized it just might be possible to accomplish the unthinkable. "The 100,000 mana crystals and I will have the tome after the deed is either done or fails." The little wizard bargained. "And what need would I have of the tome after the act? I agree to your terms." The old man handed the wizard the bag of mana and just a little slower handed him the ancient book. He greedily began to pour over the pages of the long forgotten text. Good thing he had this stupid eye for it was able to translate all languages of the known Realm and unknown universes. Yes here it was just as the old fool described it. The wizard began to chant the words he read. The room began to fill with ozone and raw power of the elements. A bolt of lightning struck the floor in front of the two men. A cold wind began to howl and shake the rafters of the cottage. The candles that lit the room went out and the wizard had a hard time making out the words on the page…but he continued his summoning.

All of a sudden there was a great light that was blinding and a noise that the worlds must have surly made when they were first born. All went dark and quite. Then there was a thud on the fenris carpeted floor. The little wizard snapped his fingers and the candles relit and the men stood looking at the naked body lying on the floor. Hakkiem raced over and covered his friend with his cape. He slowly turned him over and then glared at the one eyed wizard. "You idiot" he said softly. "This is not the form he had a month ago?" "Form Smorm….what should you care about his looks. At least he is a live is he not?" "Yes he is alive." The storyteller said. "Oh you can keep the book" he chuckled as he started to the door. The wizard had almost forgotten the tome in the excitement. He turned to pick up the book and was startled to find only ashes. " You tricked me you …you….you…" "Careful " said the spinner of tales as his hand went to his blade…"You wouldn’t want to have to get another Ogre eye now would you?" And the storyteller and the reborn man went out into the night air leaving the little wizard sputtering behind.

"My friend Hakkiem what is the meaning of this?" "It’s all right sir Lazarus you are home…..Soon I’ll have you back to the FD manor. I’ll explain everything then." Lazarus let his friend lift him into the wagon at the side of the dirt road. " But first I think we should both get a glass of wine" Hakkiem laughed………..Fini
